stonemasons

These lads are a couple of stonemasons who had set up a small shelter in some bush near the house, collecting and selecting 'stones for their current project.

In this case it is 'coffee rock,' a limonite cemented sand which can absolute pest in hills gardens as it is close to the surface and not friendly for digging gardens or putting in pools. However it does build beautiful walls and features and these two are responsible for much of the stone work in this area.

While not quite dry stone walls as they use a veneer of cement at the back of the structure, the walls they build are just lovely with each stone chosen and shaped to size for its position.
