War medals

A happy side to my granny's funeral today was my uncle bringing lots of memorabilia from her father Charles Band. My great grandfather served through the entire first world war and there was plenty from this period. I wrote a full post on the blog

This picture shows his 3 service medals plus his original dog tag. He started the war as a private and a year later was a 2nd lieutenant! Hopefully I can find out more soon..
