Monday 18 June 2012: Baby in a box

This blip does what it says on the tin (American friends this is a UK reference to an ad for a product called Ronseal). It's not a photo of the glorious sunshine we finally got. It's not a photo of all the things M and I got up to. It's a photo of a baby, in a box. But I'll get to that in a minute.

We had busy day today. I accomplished quite a bit around the flat today (and am that much closer to moving A into the boxroom...) and then we went up to Rocket to meet my friend Susannah for lunch. We met two years ago while doing various post-baby exercise classes after our first babies, and Susannah just started her maternity leave today for baby number two who is due in two weeks. She's a great girl -- someone who feels like home to me. Unfortunately for one reason or another we rarely get together, but now that she's on mat leave hopefully that will change. Lunch was nearly three hours of non-stop chatter -- we could've kept going but the place wanted to close and we both had things to do and places to go.

From there M and I went to Doodles to make a hand/foot imprint like the one A made when he turned seven months, but they were too busy and we were sent away. Boo. A bit of a walk in the sunshine and then we got A from nursery. Tonight I also had the first of three groupon glycolic facials that I'd purchased and nearly forgotten about. I followed that up with a take-away sushi dinner -- life is good! I was even able to ride in the upstairs part of the bus (both ways! Between babies and pregnancies, I've hardly done this in the past four years). Oh, and then I ran into these two lovely people again. Turns out they live right on the main street of our neighborhood. How have I never noticed seen them before (I've lived here for nearly seven years), but then I spot them twice in one week? And, oddly, K2 saw them today as well.

But why is M in a box? It looked like he'd fit in it so I just put him there, and he loved it. Perhaps this is how I'll make my millions -- Buy a Baby Box. It's better than a Bumbo, more portable than a Jumperoo. But the real reason this is my blip is because I took this photo and then forgot my camera. I could've done worse...
