Inevitable

I know this is all part of the great cycle that I should appreciate but I do not like the dimming of the light. The turning leaves, for all their colour and patterns, remind me that I'm about to dive underwater and will have to hold my breath till April.

Salt of the Earth, by Wim Wenders about Sebastião Salgado. A spectacular film and very pertinent. On violence, humans, forced migration, and the environment. His extraordinary wife, Lélia Wanick Salgado, is the powerhouse behind everything but appears in negative: you really have to pay attention to realise that without her...

He even started out in photography with her camera.
