Wednesday 20 June 2012: Burst of Summer

"In June, as many as a dozen species may burst their buds on a single day. No man can heed all of these anniversaries; no man can ignore all of them." ~ Aldo Leopold

Summer in the Northern Hemisphere begins today. This is the longest day of the year. From here on out, the days will get just a bit shorter until the winter solstice in December.

For those wondering about yesterday's blip, Tea-zer -- it's a teapot from Vietnam.
