Morning Rush Hour Traffic

After a grim couple of days at work, today has been a far more productive day. Just a couple of steps backwards and lots forward for once! We're load testing our software on a whole new infrastructure (a similar exercise to what they are no doubt doing at blipcentral) to see how it scales as the number of concurrent users is ramped up. We've been getting some very strange results which have really made little sense. The trouble is that there are so many unknowns that it is very difficult to trace the cause of failures. A lot is out of our control, such as the database itself and the web server software. Everything seems to point at problems within those black boxes. Both happen to be Microsoft products. Surely, with such vast resources at their disposal, their software could not be the source of the problem? Do you think? !!

I'm very lucky in that I can commute to work on virtually traffic-free roads. I see very few cars for most of the route and actually rarely any other cyclists. I think the giant hills put most off as there is a much flatter, albeit much busier alternative. Today, though, as I was taking a shot of this stretch of road, a bike came past. This is about as busy as it gets along here!
