Thursday 21 June 2012: Summer solstice today with Hurry

Summer solstice today with Hurry on Midsummer Meadow. The longest day in good weather and light throughout the day. Tomorrow we celebrate midsummer one for Swedes perhaps the biggest weekend of the year. The families gathered again herring lunch and getting ready for today's festivities, we dress the maypole with flowers and leaves and in the afternoon we dance like a child again around it and sing traditional songs and rhymes with games. The evening usually start up with any tug of war contest or softball before it's time for a meal. Young girls must pick seven different kinds of wild flowers to put under the pillow on the dreams of the night, they marry. Possibly no Blip tomorrow, but instead any back Blip, the next day.
