Thursday 21 June 2012: Olympic Torch

On the 29th June at precisely 16.23 the Olympic Torch will be travelling through Bakewell.
This is an event that a lot of people seem indifferent about and I must admit the amazing amounts of money that it's cost to stage in these times of cutbacks goes against the grain.
But I've always loved the Olympics especially the athletics and having it in London will make a nice change from having to stay awake all night to watch the hockey, curling or whatever the UK has a chance of a medal in.
There is one thing though I've never managed to get into and that's Synchronized swimming!! Truly dull and not a patch on the sequences in a Busby Berkeley movie.
Changing the subject there is a nice touch in the corner of this banner, well it amused me anyway!!
