Monday 18 June 2012: Tyrollean Traverse.
This is not a zip wire, and the challenge of the day is not to get safely across. The challenge of the day is to get safely across and then climb the sea stack behind.
The rope is not set up by lassoing the top of the rock as you may think. Instead Simon had to don his wet suit, tie a rope round his waist, jump in the Atlantic and swim across.
This was my first Tyrollean Traverse and I learned several tricks. Like using a prusik loop on the rope to get enough grip to get back up the incline.
Another superb day.
