Swaying in the breeze

It was a stunning autumn day. Alex spent the morning at Dogsthorpe Star Pit with the Wildlife Trust volunteers, and in the afternoon we went to Orton Pit to survey the last few ponds. Wood small-reed is the dominant grass over many of the clay mounds we've had to clamber around on, and looked rather lovely swaying in the breeze against a perfect blue sky.
