GPO Sculpture

To Sydney's credit, much has been done to preserve Victorian and Edwardian facades in the CBD. There's a wonderful set of sculptures adorning the grand old 1891 GPO (General Post Office) building at Martin Place. Only a tiny part of the original structure is actually a post office any more. The rest has been gutted to become a huge upmarket eatery and food hall complex, where "the suits" have lunch. These sculptured adornments run the length and breadth of the façade above the wonderful old cloisters.
