Big Red!

This is a newly planted “Kangaroo Paw” in the early stages of flowering......  I’ve created a new garden bed with a variety of different flowering plants and thought this Australian native was a good addition as it’s supposed to attract Birds.
 
The tubular flowers are coated with dense hairs and have a bit of a claw like structure…. Hence the name Kangaroo paw!
 
Sadly the next four days of intense heat is going to cause havoc in the garden, so have given it a big drink before we set off on a short break!
