Friday 22 June 2012: Made With Love
...the infamous "Christmas tree cookie" as known in my family.
My mom has out done herself this time. Slaving over these beautiful cookies every Christmas and shipping them to those she loves the most. We receive a box every year padded with numerous sheets of bubble wrap to make sure the cookies make it ok.
It has become a tradition to look forward to. A tradition carried on from our childhood. Now she is carrying it on to her grandchildren.
Being that we haven't all been together in many years, she spent many weekends making her "spring" version of the cookies. I almost feel guilty eating them :)
All in all a fantastic day spent together: cousins, siblings, grandchildren. Running errands, a trip to our favorite local farm, and lots of baking. Lots and lots of baking, as tomorrow is the first birthday party for Baby S. And then my brother's birthday. And then mine.
Thanks for all the birthday wishes for Baby S yesterday. So fun to see as they brought back so many memories from one year ago. And how fun that he shares his day with the Diva and Smith twins, and of course the fab AmErica who of course predicted his birthday. A fantastic day indeed.
