Snips and Snaps

Waiting for the Guests

After the torrents of yesterday, today's grey skies had at least emptied themselves of rain. A run out through the woods and Borsdane Brook was a torrent rather than the usual trickle. The Golf course was bereft of players apart from a pair of oyster catchers, who must have thought the waterlogged course might hold a fish or two. The canal was full and I was fortunate to see a barge through Top Lock on the Wigan flight. Along the canal to Haigh Hall former seat of the Earl of Balcarres, now the venue for weddings. As I ran past the window the room was decorated and tables set for the afternoon's festivities. Too much to hope for sunshine for the photos, but at least the rain's held off. I rather liked the apparition-like floaty quality of this with the reflected sky - hope you've avoided the rain today :)
