Saturday 23 June 2012: Girl with a one-track mind
This weekends posts are all going to be linked by the Festival of Erotic Arts that is taking place around Edinburgh from Friday to the early hours of Monday. When it was initially announced a few months ago the Edinburgh Evening News made it a front page story that this festival of 'debauchery' would be filling the usually calm streets of Edinburgh with rampant sex fanatics. The truth is somewhat different with the various performance events being inter-twined with academic discussion on the subject of erotic arts.
There two events this afternoon that I was covering were a spoken word reading of erotic writers and then a discussion with one of the most famous sex-bloggers, Zoe Margolis or as she is probably more widely known, Abby Lee or ehe Girl with a One Track Mind. It was really interesting and positive to hear discussion that attempts to lift the repression that can surround sex. Hopefully this festival can grow in future years and more people can engage in a different way of thinking.
