Thursday 21 June 2012: The Torch
This was a big day for Bowness on Windermere with an overnight stay for the torch, as you can see from the crowds it was embraced by the locals & tourists in a big way ......got to hold the torch later.
When the torch arrived the weather was dry, but when the big entertainment event of the day started the heavens opened, great shame as it was a very impressive show. Performed by 'Les Commandos Percu' & called 'On the Night Shift' This was a World premier pyrotechnic show based around numerous specially designed drums & stage dancing. Don't think Windermere will ever see the likes of this again, well done to the organisers .......... apart from who was in charge of the weather!!
