Waterfoot Sunrise

West Farm

After a lovely meal last night at Maba in Bicester, it was a long lie this morning before getting up for a run in the Oxfordshire countryside. The roads were quiet and the weather bright and breezy after heavy overnight rain. It was a pleasant enough run in new surroundings, but it lacked any kind of view. The countryside is so flat around here that you rarely get to see anything beyond your immediate surroundings. The thick, and often very high, hedgerows make it even worse and it is a relief when you come to a gate and can at least see across a field!

Part of the reason for describing the area is, at least in part, an excuse for the lack of quality in recent blips. You see, there simply isn't a lot to inspire a blipper , particularly when the sky has been mostly grey. So today's blip is really one for the journal to record where we have been staying at West Farm. A number of farm sheds and barns have been converted in to self catering accommodation units and this is ours, the former Farm Office. At least there is a bit of blue in the sky!

To continue with the theme of eating and drinking during our family get together, this afternoon we head to the Mucky Duck in Hethe, a nearby village, for a late Sunday lunch. Now what could be more English than that, especially if we have the roast beef and yorkshire pudding!
