If you can't beat them...

Vale Royal Moorings

After leaving the Anderton Lift we traveled up stream on the Weaver.  As we passed through the huge locks (the Weaver used to carry large commercial traffic) one of the Lock Keepers recommended we moor at Vale Royal.

However we had our own plans we aimed to travel to the end of navigation at Winsford turn and moor at a place we had used before.  It turned out he trip on the Weaver is a totally different experience to the canals.  The locks alone make it different they are operated by Lock Keepers and could fit at least 8 possibly 12 narrowboats at a time.

This shot is looking down river from the moorings.
