U is for Unknown

This is week 21 of Alphabet Challenge

This is my daughter sporting her Great Grandfathers Trilby. She never met my Grandfather so he is unknown to her (Emergency U) as he died when I was only 11, but where ever he went he always wore one of these. He loved his hats and ran many of pubs in his life time, he was quite well known man in the Newport area. I remember on the day of his funeral, outside my Nan's hundred of men stood on the grassy area, waiting to show their respect! It was quite amazing to see, even for a 11 year old boy.

Sorry, it was not until I went to upload this picture I realised I had not taken part in the Alphaponty Challenge this week. But I got in by the skin of my teeth!
