It's Grim Up North

Somewhere east of Kendal.

Set out to drive along a remote road that skirts the edge of the Howgills in search of photos. It is at the bottom of the fells and often has wild ponies grazing on the fells above it. Drove six or seven miles down single track roads. (English single track roads don't have passing places) Crossed a large but narrow stone bridge over the Lune that had an inch to spare on either side of the wing mirrors.
Both of the tractors I met where at junctions, so we managed to pass without major reversing. Finally reached the road junction I was aiming for. Road Closed. Diversion -->
