Healthy eating?

Bit of  a panic here today. Rush to A&E - the new £300million Forth Valley Hospital in Larbert- with M.  He is on warfarin and a nose bleed refused to stop after a couple of hours.

Well, it turned out to be more dramatic - blood everywhere- than serious but it was certainly a wake-up call. 
Who was it said you are only an inch away from a mile drop? makes you think about one's own mortality sitting there in A&E.

Why the photo of crisps and chocolate? well this is all that was on offer in the hospital vending machine.  I know all about the excuse of consumer choice but do we really want to have the choice of 12 different types of crisps and 27 bars of chocolate.  As for the drinks cabinet, it had rows of Coca-Cola and Irn Bru ( a very sweet tasting Scottish drink). Even the bottled bottle had added sugar.
Could the hospital not have at least a couple of healthy snacks , a packet of nuts or dried fruit , in the vending machine?
