Washington Blipmeet

As promised we had a wonderful day today with Blipmate O'Suzanna who showed us around her beautiful home city of Washington DC.

What a treat to be picked up and driven to all the major sites with our very own tour guide.
We did our share of walking too (7.8 miles/12.5 km). Plus she gets 5 stars for perfect weather.

We had no idea what marvellous memorials have been created in this city honouring so many - from past statesmen to those who died in battle.
They were all quite unique, many featuring life like sculptures which seemed to make them even more poignant.
One example is the extra of the U.S. Marine Corps Memorial's Iwo Jima Statue based on the Pulitzer Prize winning photograph by Joe Rosenthal.
