THE SMALL FIGURE AT THE END

of the path is a wooden sculpture of Calvin, the Swiss reformator.
He is looking into the valley of Karlshafen from the Diemelhöhe.
The refugees that came here at the end of the 17th century had fled from France, where they were persecuted, because of their belief in the doctrines of Calvin. Most of the people in the region adhered to the dogmas of Luther and  other persons still belonged to the Roman Catholic church
The day started misty and stayed that way for a long time. Then the clouds happened to dissolve and the sun shone brightly. When we, however, started our walk the clouds were back and mostly covered the sky. We climbed the Diemelhöhe from one side and descended at the other side. A really quiet walk, exactly as we love it. Then to the supermarket, food must be bought, of course.

My haiku:

Standing still staring
In all directions and feel
Emotions freely

And the proverb:

To feel in one's bones.

1607-08  Shakespeare, Timon of A. III, v 131
