Western Pennsylvania Vacation ....

Day 4.

We were up and out of our Mississauga hotel by 9:30 am this morning … on our way to Erie, Pennsylvania via Niagara Falls and with quick stop to see R’s brother who lives in Cherry Creek, New York.  My extra photo is of Toronto Canada taken from our hotel balcony before we left Mississauga.

We got to Niagara Falls around 11:30ish and spend only about 20 minutes there ~ 21 minutes to be exact!  That one minute pushed us over the free parking allotted time!  Grrrrr!

From Niagara Falls we headed for Erie, Pennsylvania where we will be spending the night and exploring the area tomorrow.  As I mentioned above, we also stopped to see R’s brother and his wife on our way to Erie, PA.  It was a nice visit but much too short.

We arrived at our hotel in Erie, PA shortly before supper.  And after checking in and grabbing a quick bite we started our exploration of Erie.  R had read of a wonderful park (Presque Isle State Park) that is touted to be a bird lover’s paradise!  We plan to spend more time there tomorrow but we wanted to check it out a little bit tonight.  The park is on a peninsula that juts out into Lake Erie.  We were suitably impressed ….. more on that tomorrow.

As we were leaving the park it started to rain and was coming down quite heavily by the time we got back to our hotel.

Day 4 complete.

Total miles driven today: 261 (Wow! More than the day before!)
