Tuesday 26 June 2012: I want to ride my bicycle
Part of primary schooling here in Germany includes bike training, thus ensuring that at the age of 10 all (ok, the majority) of the kids going up to high school are sufficiently drilled in bike/road safety and can, in theory, cycle to school come the new school year.
This morning was the big road test and I got to stand point on one of the trickier corners, keep an eye on traffic whilst another mom monitored the cycling ability of the kids making the turn.
It took almost three hours for the five year four classes to do a practice run and then the actual run, I was certainly ready for a coffee afterwards.
