Tuesday 26 June 2012: Breaking and entering......
an innocent act by a raccoon.
This morning at 5 am ish, I was having my coffee on the porch and saw Mama raccoon return from the woods followed by four babies. It was so cute. The babies played in a tree in my next door neighbors garden, while one by one their mummy pushed them in through the vent in the roof. It was quite an effort for her as one disobedient youngster kept struggling free. The noise I heard early one morning last week, had been a baby calling for it's mom.
As luck would have it, I had a flash of inspiration to talk to the local handyman who I know has just put in my elderly neighbors' A /C unit . He said that he would be able to tell her about the raccoons without frightening her. This will work out perfectly. I also did a little homework and gave him some numbers of humane professional raccoon removers.
