Success....

The title relates to the trying out of the monopod  -  I've got the hang of it, and I know it will be a big help, particularly if I'm going to walk any kind of distance.  I didn't go far for this shot but at least I had a try out.

Up to three years ago when Jack's arthritis became bad this would be the time of year when we took ourselves off to warmer climes for a few weeks;   we'd come home for Christmas, and then go off again in January.  When the days are dark and dismal I can't help looking fondly back and thinking "if only".
