Rotten Apples

A contribution to Derelict Sunday!  I saved these especially for the blip but they are now on their way to the compost heap!

We have a tree in the garden - it used to be in a prominent position until we had the conservatory built but now it tends to get forgotten. This year it had an excellent crop of apples which have been delicious. Unfortunately many branches reach over into the neighbour's garden - he is an elderly disabled gentleman  and so has not benefited from these windfalls.  We rescued quite a few from the grass but some were past saving - good for Derelict Sunday I thought.

Much of the day has been spent with a bit of retail therapy.  Daughter number 2 returns to work tomorrow after her year's maternity absence so it was a last day of freedom.  We used the time wisely and bought Christmas Jumpers for most of the family ready for the Christmas photoshoot!  Not for the menfolk though as I don't think I could get them to wear one even for a photo!

Supper time now - no apple pie on the menu though!
