Saturday 23 June 2012: Usable Weather

Our getaway in the middle of nowhere. Isolation, peace, quiet, a beautiful environment and a peat fire are amongst it's positive attributes. Negatives might include the lack of sanitation, and being a mile from the nearest road if the weather is bad!

Fortunately today is "usable weather". Cloudy with a breeze, a pleasant temperature for walking, and although there might be a few showers they are minor.

This afternoon we walked out along the peninsula, visiting some spectacur cliffs, scrambling to some beautiful rockpools, stopping off at a long abandoned mill, and getting as far as the next bay up. A very pleasant stroll.

We also did some painting today, whitewashing part of the inside walls. A job that is probably twenty years overdue and fair brightens the place up. We'll be bringing more whitewash next time, along with fresh red carinal for the hearth.

A quiet evening tongiht, with plenty of reading and some more Yahtzee!
