The Accidental Edit

2 days to go and counting . . . .

Woke to a particularly harsh freeze - the rain from the past few days combined with sub-zero temperatures meant not just frost but ice too. So much in fact that my car door was frozen shut, there was black ice on the roads (10 or more accidents reported early morning including one van which had hit ice and plummeted off an overbridge - fortunately with no serious injuries) and there were significant areas around school that were like icerinks for the unsuspecting. Again, fortunately, no-one slipped or was injujred. I haven't known a freeze like this one here before.

The good thing is that once the sun gets up the temperatures rise reasonbly quickly so the black ice disappeared pretty quickly too.

Busy but good morning followed by a productive and satisfying afternoon.

On the drive home - a little earlier than usual - the late afternoon sun was still providing enough light to take pictures with. To be honest, this was a 'grasping at straws' shot but the accidental edit produced an effect I rather liked. It kind of hints at what's there but leaves you to paint the rest of the image yourself, in your mind's eye. I like that.

Bed now - only 2 more sleeps to holidays :)
