Thursday 21 June 2012: Pump Problem
Occasionally sand sneaks into the well, up through the valve (the red bit) and prevents the pump from operating to its full potential (about 20 litres per minute)
The solution is to unscrew the pump and the valve and clean it out.
The then put some gauze over it in the short term and clean out the sand when the water table is lower.
The village women know how to solve the problem
