Life from a City

If Money Grew on Trees

It's a phrase I've often heard, "Money doesn't grow on trees...." Well, It's Mono Monday, with the theme of Money, and I just found myself staring at the now bare branches of a tree and wondering what if money did grow on trees? Would we all be in debt every winter?

I blipped this avenue about two weeks ago today. https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2106078984444839836  And although it's holding up better than most in the area, the trees have lost half their leaves. There is something in this about money slipping through our hands, like the leaves being blown from the trees in Autumn. No matter how hard we try, most of us cannot hold onto money, because spending it is an essential part of living. Just as the loss of the leaves from the tree are an essential part of its survival through winter.

If money grew on trees, we would be like the person who only works for 6 months of the year, and had to save enough in that time to pay for the rest of the year.

I'm happy money doesn't grow on trees.
