Thursday 28 June 2012: Clearing skies over George Square
Yet another picture taken out of an upstairs window - following a bit of a theme. It's been an interesting day, with some (qualified) good news about the bid that I put in in February. No definitive answer yet and who knows when it will arrive, but some of the signs are good. But I'm counting not one single chuck before they've hatched, etc. etc. [Add platitudes of your own choice].
Security was out in force today. Apparently the daughter of the President of Pakistan was graduating from one of our Schools. In other words, Benazir Bhutto's daughter. It's a hard act to follow and it must be unimaginably awful to lose your mother in that way. Anyway, it certainly generated a security presence although in some ways it was less intrusive than when we've had royalty or even the American ambassador here.
Time to go home.
And for once I won't get wet.
