On the Animas River

It is unbelievably HOT! We that are used to living at sea level tried to acclimatize a bit today with a walk around this sleepy western town. Right now (8pm) we are watching the 3 grandkids in the motel pool for the 5th time in the 27 hours we have been here! This photo was taken earlier of some rafts floating down the Animas River which flows thru town. Usually this time of year, there would be very good sized rapids, but this year right now one could walk across. A function of too warm temps- the snow in the mountains has all melted and gone. Might be just right for the likes of us tho! At least the water is cold.
