GreyLynn mural

This mural is on the wall of a large office building occupied by the Grey Lynn office of the Child, Youth and Family Service. Between that building and the Grey Lynn Community Centre (out of view to the right and behind) is a car park.

After some debate and negotiation with the owners of the building and the Community Centre, whose carpark it is, the CYFS office have commissioned and had painted this mural. I am unsure if it has been completed. I've only been aware of it for about a month.

Child, Youth and Family is the agency charged with the statutory authority and responsibility to act in the protection of children. An often un-thanked task, made more difficult when they "get it wrong"; either through not intervening or through intervening.

The size of their task may be inferred from the size of this building, and the number of staff based here.

This photograph was taken using the flash as it was still dark when I went past this morning. It's turned out not too bad for all that.
