Found a penny at work today. After a very frustrating day yesterday waiting for people to give me data - after they asked me to do something - today has been much more productive.

On the way home I did a shopping run through the new Waitrose in town. I really like self-scan, except if you are aiming for a price amount to qualify for a discount (£8 off £40), the running total doesn't include promotions so it's easy to think you've got to your cut-off point only to discover you haven't. As I didn't buy meat and I can't buy junk food or alcohol any more it's actually quite hard to spend £40, even at Waitrose, if you are buying mostly fruit and vegetables and sensible unprepared food stuffs!
