Cold

I got my wish, snow on the tops.
We walked up Blencathra where the cold fresh brightness cleared all the mild autumnal weather from our systems and nearly blew us away. The dusting of snow makes the contours of the fells stand out and adds another dimension to the rocky slopes.
This is a view of Scales Tarn from above.
After the summit we had intended to return via Mungrizdale common to add another Wainwright to our tally, but it was snowy,  slippery and difficult to see where we were going in the low cloud. We headed down chasing a patch of sun to warm us up a little so we could eat our lunch without freezing our fingers off.
Home now and feeling the post walk glow in our faces.
Extra is a snow covered ledge.
