Rain on grasses at Rydal

Please view LARGE

Traditional Cumbrian weather stayed with us all week, with a trip to Rydal being "helped" with constant rain.

On the good side, we walked past a meadow of long grass which was just shimmering with wonderful water droplets. I did, however, want to seperate this grass head from the background, and rather liked the angle it hung at from this viewpoint. The problem, to get the whole grass in focus would have needed about f32 (if not more!) and that would render the background highly distracting. The solution - a focus-stack of 18 images all taken at f9, each at slightly different focus points along the grass head.

I like the way the rain drops almost look like jewels on the grass.
