WHERE DEER ROAM FREE
The Deer Boys spent the afternoon resting behind our house.
What a blessing to share my land with these beauties.
My heart goes out to those who lost their homes, and
To the deer who lost their resting place.

I found this quote in the Denver Post to be particularly poignant.
It's from Dougg Custer, whose home on Majestic Street burned.

"THE DEER, OH, WE'RE GOING TO MISS THE DEER."
"They would come through and eat everybody's flowers.
But nobody minded because they were just so beautiful."

Thank you, my Blip Friends for your kind words about our fires.
Plus, thanks for sending us rain. Not lots, but some last night.
Today, we feel more hopeful, no more homes destroyed.
This evening we can see the mountains. Gotta be a good sign
