Saturday 30 June 2012: Standing tall

We were up and about early this morning as we had to go to the recycling centre to take our plastic bottles and then we wanted to call into Emmaus on the way home as they had a half price sale on. Emmaus is a charity and community which provides homeless people with a home, work and the chance to rebuild their lives. It really is a great place and sells a wide variety of second hand goods from electricals, clothes. furniture, books.....the list goes on. This statue greats you as you enter the premises and is of Abbé Pierre, the founder of the Emmaus movement.

This afternoon I had a lovely visit from Harebell who is not long back from her very wet but enjoyable camping trip to West Wales. We had a lovely natter over a cuppa and some sweet treats and a little wander around the garden. All in all a lovely day.
