Saturday 30 June 2012: High End Dining

A few doors over from me there is a restaurant that dates back to the 1930s but exists now as an upscale creature, stripped of its working class appeal. Last time the building (a Victorian house) was painted, it was a cheap job and the painters evidently had no ladder long enough to reach the attic level and lacked the inginuity to do it from the roof. The old paint was in bad shape then, and now after another fifteen or more years, it's just plain dead.

Last night we had a saucy thunder storm that gave some relief from the present heat wave, and so the earthworms are easy to spot. I felt lucky to capture this robin at suppertime!
