Judy Murray PR machine

Phew! It’s been one roller-coaster of a day.

Stirling Observer carried a good story putting our case against Judy Murray’s proposed tennis centre, golf course, hotel houses etc. on Park of Keir, the iconic designed landscape and Greenbelt separating Dunblane and Bridge of Allan

Then comes another bit of good news- Stirling Planning officials are recommending rejection of this application when it comes before the Planning committee next Tuesday in the Victoria Hall, Dunblane.

BBC Television are coming out here to film on Friday. Judy Murray will have her son Jamie in tow (where is Andy?). And interviews are now being set up.

Who fancies getting into the ring with Judy Murray?  I was surprised to find that there was no shortage of volunteers.

But then over 1,000 letters of objection have been sent in and only 45 in favour despite the huge Judy Murray PR machine and money invested promoting it.

Now comes the most bizarre twist of the day- an email from a friend saying she had received the following text from Dunblane High School:

"Any student wishing to support the Park of Keir Development can attend a meeting (1hr) in Victoria Hall at 10am 8/12/15."

Since when were pupils allowed out to support a controversial planning proposal?
Already on social media calls are out for the headmaster to resign. Or at least to explain himself. Those pupils not in favour of it could not go.

After a bit of digging on my part I discovered the instigator was the Parents Council and the headmaster may not even be aware of it.

Well, he certainly is now. As they say in Scotland:”Ye kent noo.”
