Sunday 1 July 2012: Heat
We have had wicked heat for the past week. We came home from the beach yesterday to find lawns all over the neighborhood brown and our flowers and plants wilted. Here is our hydrangea that was so vibrantly pink the other day. On our drive across the state of North Carolina we encountered temperatures up to 108F (that's 42 for the rest of the world). Very thankful for good air conditioning in our car. Along the route were many flat tires and overheated cars pulled by the side of the road.
