a pinhole sky explodes out

light pillar

for whatever reason, the sun in state college has a habit of shooting a pillar of light up into the sky when it's setting, as can also be seen here. I've never seen this anywhere else but it's apparently relatively common.. and I really like it.

Today was the first significant snow of the season (significant meaning, covering the grass enough to make it look winter-y). I definitely prefer cold and snowy to cold and rainy.
