The second half of life..

By twigs

Yikes!

I've just sat through probably the longest and scariest earthquake I've ever felt since living in NZ . . . . . my heart is still racing!

The Geonet report tells us that it was 6.5 on the Richter scale but thankfully, over 250 kms deep. It started as a little shake - not unusual - but it just kept going . . . . . and going . . . . . . enough to make me get out of my seat and start to think about where to head for safety.

I hear you Christchurch - you've lived this way for over 18 months. I'm thankful this one wasn't in your part of the Island.

(btw - the image is the Geonet seimograph indicating that the image was taken 10 minutes after the event)
