Tuesday 3 July 2012: Yellow Dung Fly

This little Yellow Dung Fly,Scatophaga stercoraria, was almost the only thing I could find to photograph this afternoon, apart from slugs and snails. The long grass in the field should be teaming with life now. Instead, everything is hiding in crevices awaiting some warmth.

There was one other very teeny weeny fly that almost made it, but couldn't beat this. I've left it late this evening so I can't upload it. It may finish in my Blipfolio tomorrow.

An unusually lazy day has done me good but now it's time go get back to reality and a night at work.
