Saturday 30 June 2012: Brave!
Final evening of the Edinburgh International
Film Festival this evening, and we were excited to go and see the much-hyped premiere of the latest Disney-Pixar movie "Brave". A tale set in Scotland, which it is hoped will bring many visitors here to see the scenery and hear the stories.
It's in 3-D, hence the glasses. Our son took the picture.
As a family entertainment, it was an enjoyable movie, and pitched at the level where our 14-year old said that it was better than she had expected for a kid's movie, and that she would tell her friends to see it.
I've heard various adults stand up at Tourism Conferences recently and say that they expect the 4-year olds who watch the movie to beg their parents to come to visit Scotland.
Merida, the heroine, is certainly a girl you'd want on your side in an archery contest.
I'd like to see it again to enjoy the fabulous animation - many of the scenes are to be marvelled at in the level of detail they achieve.
