Can you guess what this is? Unless you already know, you probably won;t be able to. There are tons of these down at the pond. MOst of them are empty shells where a dragonfly has emerged. In this one, it never made it out of the casing for whatever reason.

I intend going to the park very early tomorrow morning to see if I can catch a dragonfly emerging.

If you are wondering about the EXIF date.. I used a 400mm lens with two extension tubes. It's a wonderful 'macro' set up where I can be up to 5 meters away from the subject and because all my shots are hand held, if the light is good, I still get very sharp images.

If you view it in large you can see the compound eyes and the dragonfly's back.
