Oosterschelde ...

Moored in the Leuvehaven Rotterdam - after a journey of 45,000 nautical miles, 80,000 kms along old trade routes, five continents, three capes - the Oosterschelde, a three-masted schooner from the Netherlands, built in 1918. She is the largest restored Dutch freight ship and the only remaining Dutch three-masted topsail schooner. Her home port is Rotterdam.

Best seen in large ... ;-)

This very month  the said trip will be broadcast under the title "Oosterschelde Odyssey ... a  journey around the world of a Windjammer" in four parts on Dutch television.

More recent information about this ship can be found here.

Thank you for visiting my journal, your comments and stars on yesterday's "Rumpelstiltskin Youngest Daughter". Very much appreciated.

I'm not sure what time I'll get a blip posted tomorrow, so in case I don't get around to it, let me wish you a Happy and Prosperous New Year and the hope that Blip continues and thrives as a community owned venture.
