Thursday 5 July 2012: Sand dredge
Mooloolaba Harbour is home to many recreational craft and commercial fishing vessels. There is a dangerous sandbar at the entrance to the harbour, which can be very hazardous to negotiate at low tide.
This is the sand dredge Port Frederick, which has been brought in to try and resolve the ongoing problem. It is frequently on view from Mooloolaba Beach, where we were walking in the late afternoon sun.
